    The MDR5 is a minimal-size three channel motor driver, perfect for compact cameras. It is compatible with Preston hand controls connected via the robust G4 wireless link. It also supports new Light Ranger 2 lens functions including diopter calibration and Dolly zoom (requires HU4).

    An external Microforce zoom control uses the new Zoom+Serial port (requires cable #8765).

    The dual Serial Ports allow connection to the Light Ranger 2 and other distance measuring devices. The distance information from these devices is shown on the HU4 along with the focus knob setting and limits.

    The MDR5 motors may also be controlled with combinations of Preston hand controls: HU4, Focus/Iris and Wireless Micro Force.

    Lens metadata is available in real-time from the Serial Ports for controlling virtual sets via the Unreal Engine, or for use in post-production.
